Actions are customizable “no-code” add-ons that users can install for their account, for use on other casts. They can be accessed via the 4 square symbol.

Actions appear in a pop up when you click the 4 square symbol.

Actions provide users with a simple way to take check things about a cast or user based on certain criteria, or make a series of predefined steps.

For example Actions can:

• Check the total USD value of all crypto in users’ associated wallet.
• Check the quantity of a certain token held by a users associated wallet mentioned by that user in a cast.
• Tip a predefined amount of $DEGEN to a cast.
• Translate a cast into another language in from of a bot reply.

This provides users with “no code” solutions to common sources of friction and keeps users in app, rather than forcing them to leave to go to a chain explorer to check another users balance or to Google Translate to translate a cast. Like Frames, Actions take advantage of Farcaster’s open source, permissionless infrastructure to allow builders to create a marketplace of ideas and see what sticks.
